Bonnet Options
So, I'm in the market for some new kilt wear. Among other things on the list is a new bonnet. Black is the obvious color choice, but the question is; diced band or plain? Any thoughts?

I have a number of bonnets and tams. My favourites are some of the fawn colours in the spring and fall and darker colours in the winter. Both are far too warm to wear in the summer so I wear a fedora.

I prefer fawn, brown or bottle green, and am no fan of black bonnets. I'm also prefer diced bonnets, but have one that's not.

Why pray tell, is "black the obvious colour choice"?
There is an awful lot of ill-informed nonsense talked about civilian bonnet dicing. If you like it then have it , if you don't then, don't.

Only because it will work well with the rest of my Highland attire. I only wear a bonnet on occasion, so having one that works with everything is preferable. I have thought of getting one in dark green or navy blue, but not right now.

Ah I see, you meant for yourself, not as a general thing. Sorry, I was not working from the same angle as you.

Personaly, I'm a fan of plain. Something about dicing comes across as "militant" to me. I also prefer Tams to Balmorals though. Ultimately it's up to you (obviously), but if it's really, really close for you... you can always flip a coin.
"REMEMBER!"
