Modern take on the kilt?

Okay, so I'm not a fashionista.

They both look like models being paid to wear those outfits on a runway. They look awful.

I rather agree. I applaud 21st Century's efforts to "modernise" and even popularise the kilt, but my maxim still applies: Wear It Proudly, Wear It Properly, Wear It Like You Mean It. The devil is in the details.
