My son's eight grade dance is tonight. He has insisted that he would wear his kilt to the event. We live in Mississippi. (The deep South of the U.S.) Most people in our area do not have a clue what a kilt is. I get crazy looks from many when I wear mine. I was worried that as a 13 year old kid, he would get made fun of all night. He said he didn't care. His mother and I insisted that if he wore it, he would wear it right. Well, after a new shirt and borrowing my sporran, vest, hose, and boots(yes, we need to buy him his own), we headed off to the dance. He even convinced me to wear one of mine to drop him off.
