    There was the "clasp knife" pattern 6353/1905 with blade, marlin spike and can opener which I believe was a general issue item.

    When I was a young fellow in my late teens I was working in construction with a blasting crew. We used these knives for cutting the stick of powder to what ever length we wanted and the marlin spike was use to punch a hole in the end of the "stick" to insert the blasting cap. I don't know what the military used them for but they were a perfect tool used in blasting
