    Phil,

Aren't you a fortunate man! If I had such access, I would actually start wearing hose instead of simply scrunching down socks!

    Best wishes,
    Jonathan

I have an artist in my studio that knits hose on a refurbished 1918 sock knitting machine.

She can also get highland hose knitted in the old Gairloch style knitted by hand.

Here are some samples of her work.

    Cheers,

    Phil

I think she charges $85. CAN for these beauties.

I haven't asked her yet but I'd like to have a pair of the Gailock hose that have a stage head in the open area of the design.

That style was highlighted in the portraits of the highlands Queen Victoria commissioned.

Spirit of Scotland kilt with dark blue button-up and flat cap, charcoal hose, and black sporran, belt, and boots. Looking back on it, almost exactly what I wore last week. Clearly, I'm a very creative person with my clothing choices.

Stopped at the hardware store - the cashier commented my outfit was "handsome". I was out and about a bit today, since more places are now doing curbside pickup, but that was really about it. As unusual as kilts are around here, I get very few comments. For anyone who's uneasy about wearing a kilt on a daily basis: put your mind at ease - nobody really cares.

For yesterday's Kilted Friday Adventure my Scottish Wildcat tartan Kingussie was next up in rotation from my armoire. My first stop was at a Labcorp to get a lab test. The phlebotomist inquired about the occasion to be wearing a kilt. I told her it was a take off on TGIF with adding the kilt, Thank Goodness It's Kilted Friday. She said her husband wore his Royal Air Force Tartan kilt when thy attended Burns'Nights in the UK. She shared how much she enjoyed dressing up to the expected standards. I shared with that our local Scottish Society hosted one every year. A good encounter.

Yesterday(Friday) was the debut of my new to me surplus RRS leather sporran. Wore it with a very casual folded down hose, Gaelic language t-shirt and St. Louis Cardinals kilt pin. The kilt was Mackenzie Modern.
