    Thank you

Good morning. I am new to this forum but old in nature. I purchase my first kilt over 50 years ago. It is a military Black Watch tartan. I later was able to pick up a military Gordon.
I do have a question: I acquired a sporran some years ago. It was made by "Wm. Jardin & Sons, Military Outfitters, Edinburgh". It has long white horse-hare with two smaller black horse-hare tassels. The cantle has the cross of St. Andrew with a rampant lion at the top of the cross. Thistles flow down each side of the cantle. There are no other markings other than what is on the leather purse above. The cantle and tassels appear to be silver. I would like help in identification. How do you post photos?

Again thank you for allowing me to join.

The photo has to be very small. You'll have to convert it somehow to be smaller resolution and higher compression to fit into the small constraints imposed here.

That sporran sounds very interesting! I'm a student of military sporrans and I have a large library of images of them from over the years, but yours doesn't ring a bell.

I do have photos of a military sporran stamped Wm Jardin & Sons, it's a Highland Light Infantry sporran, black with three short white tassels. I also have a photo of a sporran said to have been from the 3rd Battalion Highland Light Infantry which is white with three short black tassels, but I can't find anything about that Battalion wearing kilts.

I've love to see photos of your sporran.

One needs to first upload photos to a photo hosting site.

    I'm currently using "PostImages" at postimg.org https://postimages.org/

It's free. The image above is hosted there.

You get a "gallery" and click "upload" then navigate to the image on your computer and click on it.

Once the image is in your gallery there are several options, first click on your image then choose "hotlink for forums". This temporarily holds the image, once in a post here hold "ctrl" then press "v" and the image will upload to your post.

As mentioned above make sure the files aren't too big.

Any photo wider than around 950 pixels is going to "stretch" the visible page here, throwing things off.

For comparison the image above is 750 wide.
