Sport Kilts etc

well, looks like i may have wasted some money...but the scot in me won't get rid of the sport kilt now that i have it. besides, who'd buy it? and like i say, it's great in the mornings. or for whenever. i where sandals half the time anyway, so it's not like i'm authentic or anything. my brother is considering a utilikilt, how are they? looks like i might have to save for a few more months, and get that heavy one. or another comparable. any suggestions for black kilts under $150?

While its been a few months, I did get a Standard Black Kilt from StillWater. Try emailing them and see if they are getting more in. Their stock does vary over time.

I really like my Utilikilt and they have the "Original" for $125 and the "Denim" for $148, both of which come in black.
BTW where abouts in N.C. are you located, if you don't mind me asking? I'm just west of Charlotte.

You are close enough to where we are (Franklin) that you really ought to take a trip up to see the Scottish Tartans Museum.

Most of the kilts we offer are of the hand-tailored variety, so a bit more money than you are looking to spend right now, but we also offer the Buzz Kidder canvas kilts that are in your price range and come in solids.

Plus you can pick up your accessories there in our gift shop -- belts, sporrans, kilt pins, hose and the kilt.

But you need to come by and see the museum anyway, learn more about the kilt, see examples of the different styles, etc. Who knows, you may just decide to save up the money and invest in a hand tailored kilt (which we can also get in solid colors for you!).

StillwaterKilts has a version that they call the "Heavy Weight Kilt" that is NOW available in a FANTASTIC all black version. There IS a plaid there, but it's concelaed in an all-black material. It looks AWESOME. I own a couple of them, and they're absolutely wonderful for the price. I HIGHLy recommend them for the look, feel, ease of maintenance and speed of delivery. (quote)

Sports Kilt puts a lot of guys in their first kilt, myself included. My first kilt was a cotton Sport Kilt.

They shouldn't be worn to a wedding but Sport Kilts is not recommending them as wedding kilts.

I think they're fine for what they're made for; an inexpensive kilt for athletic events or a starter kilt for guys to see if they like how a kilt feels.

I don't think there's a kilt company that's put more guys in their first kilt than Sports Kilt.

I've sent a lot of people to Sports Kilt who want a kilt quickly for casual events.

Nah. When warm weather rolls around, I love to wear my Sport Kilt. It was my first kilt too, and I'm fond of the tartan.

I wear a kilt about 5 or so days a week, and it's always nice to have some variety.
