Normality skewed

You're probably still tired from the party or else you wouldn't be trying to judge normalcy by the reaction of a group of people who wear make-up and pretend to be someone else, ha. My mother is, never say "was", a star of stage, screen and radio. I grew up with these kinds of parties. Remember acting ethics: never be surprised, unless it's over something that was no suprise to anybody else; keep a straight face; and, how dare you upstage me by wearing a kilt!

They loved you, dahling, but you know you get after a few drinks and some praise.

One of my favorite sayings is "What is Normal?" In other words who defines what is normal? We are only normal to ourselves. It is normal for me to be kilted.

Along similar lines - "I reject your reality and substitute my own in its place" -- Adam Savage.

In my reality (and yours, and just about everyone else's here) it's perfectly normal for a man to be kilted (or trousered, if that really is his preference).

I'll just echo the sentiment that your version of normality isn't skewed, theirs is.
I'm just an ignorant Yank, but I'dve thought that Yorkshire would be a bit more tolerant and accepting being in Scotland's 'backyard' as it were.

Perhaps these thespians were indeed afraid of being upstaged!

I prefer "Why be Normal?" because, face it guys; despite our protestations to each other, in society, "normal" is whatever the majority says it is, and we're definately not adhering to that standard!

Being from the south, the line is "y'all ain't right". My reply usually is "I may not be right but I have more fun than them what claim to be". Usually works.
