I'll occasionally get the "English?" or "Irish?" question (oftentimes more than the "Scottish?" one(, but the one that baffles my mind the most is the "Are you Welsh?" question.
No disrespect intended to our Cymric brethren here, but I'm amazed that people in this country even know that Wales exists most of the time. Considering the fact that statistically most Americans can't even locate Europe on a map of the world, it makes me wonder where these people got the idea to ask me if I was Welsh because I'm wearing a kilt.
Add that to my very Germanic 6'5", blonde haired, blue eyed, fair skinned frame, and I become baffled by the question.
If there was anyone who looked decidedly non-Welsh, it's me.
