The 70's
Ah yes. And along with all the other changes that took place we also were able to stop assuming responsibility for ourselves and what we do (or don't do) and threw the concept of respect out the window. Oh, and we must not forget the elimination of common sense - such silliness. If it feels good, do it. If you feel like saying it, say it. Consequences? Who cares.
But, I guess that is what is called "progress." We may one day be wearing nothing other than a loin cloth, but at least we will have a lap top, a pager, and a cell phone. Hopefully, some will still be wearing kilts. Not much else I suspect, but a kilt for sure. It's nice to march to your own drummer, especially if it happens to be a kilted drummer with a broadsword strapped across his back.
