Hi, everybody - I've been lurking for the past couple of days, doing my research for an upcoming Burns' Night (I know, kind of a rough way to start with Ancient Dress - but I'm wearing military Mess uniform, so I only have to deal with tradition from the waist down...

Actually, the Mess Dress is much more appropriate for a Burns Supper than "ancient dress", since the first Burns Supper was held by NCOs of the Argyll Militia, and Burns himself served in the Dumfries Volunteers.
