I was expecting to take part (like Robin: a long weekend in Edinburgh), but this coincides with Tartan Day/Week in New York - and I have been invited to take part in the charity "Dressed to Kilt" fashion show in the Big Apple that weekend. OK guys, given the chance which would you choose?!!! It is not yet certain that I will actually get to NYC for the event as there are a number of hurdles to be leaped before I get that airline ticket, but let's say, "We're working on it!"

I would love to go but having just got back from 5 days in Scotland (3 of them in Edinburgh) and having done a lot of kilted walking around the city and having ordered kilt #18 (Ancient Caledonia from Celtic Craft Centre) and having bought a practice chanter from Bagpipes Galore and having posed countless times for tourists etc etc it's a little too soon for me to return.
I will more than happily provide some sponsorship to any XMarkers that may need it towards their total though.

Well, I can give you an update on this. Unfortunately, I will NOT be in New York for the Tartan Day festivities - at least not this year! The personal expense is proving to be far too high for me to bear at this time (well, I do have four kilts on order!) and my sponsorship for this event is, by the minute, looking less likely to materialise. The invitation I received will be valid next year, so maybe I will make it then.
I will be unable to get to Edinburgh for the Kilt Walk either - for other reasons.
Oh, well! Best laid plans ..... an' a' tha' !
