Cool thanks, I am also thinking about the Black Stewart, but the Isle of Skye, is calling my name, I'll bet if listen real close you can hear it too.

That's strange - I put my ear to my Isle of Skye and it was saying "McClef" not "McMurdo"!

My grandfather was affiliated with the Royal Stewarts, but also with the MacDonalds of Sleat. The MacDonald of Sleat tartan is a red tartan and only available in heavyweight tartan, so I am going with MacDonald Ancient because I already have a MacGregor red kilt.
The royal stewart tartan is also a red tartan, so I am looking at the Black Stewart tartan because of different colors.
