Hello, Little John, and welcome!
I grew up next door, in Glastonbury and South Glastonbury! There is (or was, I assume they're still going strong!) a very good pipe band in Manchester, known as (wait for it) the Manchester Pipe Band. They were all ages and as I recall they offer lessons - check them out!

THey seem to be still going strong, and from the looks of it, they're one of the best in the country! And free lessons in exchange for marching when I'm decent. A price I'd be willing to pay, fer sher.
