Just a few points -- Ron is comparing his hose to a higher content wool hose. I wanted to make clear that the Lewis hose *are* wool, but they are a wool blend. They are 50% Merino wool and 50% acrylic blend. So they are much easier tot ake care of than higher wool content, but they are still wool.
Compare these to our standard kilt hose that are about an 80% wool content (not Merino, which is softer).
Also, on the fully formed option, which is now available, keep in mind that these are going to be special custom orders only, so please be generous in allowing ample time for us to get these made up and delivered when you order them.
For those of you currently waiting on backordered Lewis kilt hose or traditional garter ties, know that I'm execting a HUGE shipment in from this sock company any day now, which should make a lot of you very happy.... (including myself, I've got two pairs of custom Balmoral hose in there for me that I have been Jonesing for!)
Aye,
Matt

To continue this thread, for those of you waiting on backordered Lewis kilt hose from the Scottish Tartans Museum, I was expecting a very large hose shipment (or as I call it, a "big box o' sox") sometime in mid-February. At least this is when I was told to expect it.
Those of you with calendars will note that mid-February has come and gone. Well, there was a shipping delay which I was only recently informed about. However, I have been told that the aforesaid "big box o' sox" has left Scotland on Tuesday and is now on its way to me. Assuming average shipping time, I suppose I'll get it one day next week.
The wait is almost over, and thank those of you for being patient!
Hopefully now I'll have plenty of stock for the spring season, so those of you thinking about ordering, please feel free!
Matt

For those of you who are waiting for your Lewis kilt hose, it's going to be worth the wait. I ordered a pair of Brick Red Lewis hose from Matt a couple of weeks ago. They arrived a few days later. I'm impressed, they are really good looking kilt hose, I'm looking forward to wearing them this Saturday night with my Campbell of Cawdor kilt.
There is a great selection of colors available in this line including three shades of red. As some of the other have mention the tops are nice and thick and give you a nice foldover.

My wife has a backorder with the museum but she won't tell me what it is. Maybe I'm about to cash in on a delayed X-mas present.

Dang it, Matt, I still haven't found a job! Stop tempting me!!!
Seriously, very nice hose. When I do find a job I'll be giving them another look.

I suspect I'll have to call the museum to chat with Matt or one of his cohorts about color matching/complementing my most frequently worn kilts: those garters and hose are beyond intrigueing!
Bryan...where can I find an extra $100 in my allowance?
