    The fringe wont be a problem, but the one i used to have had a small belt attached to th end so that it could be tucked under the jacket, but i do not remember how that was done. I imagine that the end was gatherd and the small cloth belt was then sewn on. Hope some one has seen this methode and can help.

    That's a type usually used for highland dance competitions. Unless you are competing in the Highland Fling the hook will accomplish the same thing.
