i'm so grateful to be able to wear my kilt full-time at work, that i am willing to put on pants for a day if requested. my boss did say that a very important client is coming to town in a few weeks, and that i should probably dress business casual. and i have to do that if the company president comes to town.

i never could have done this at my previous job, or before that at IBM. (and while i was at IBM, i learned that fluorescent lighting and mercury vapor lighting will screw with bar-code scanners. i learned this cause i did tech support for the United States Postal Service. we even encouraged the "fonz" method for solving stuck keys on keyboards. so you can see where that postal clerk got the idea.)
