Yeah but that's OK because I think women know nothing about women. After all as soon as a man comes close to learning the "rules" women go and change the rules!

There's a lot more than 23 numbskulls who wear these things...but one thing that I've found on this forum is a healthy sensitivity to other's difficulties both with the kilt and with most other of life's little landmines. Super that you were able to break the ice and talk. I've still got friends who find this kilt thing difficult after eighteen odd months of part time kilt wearing. Hopefully the initial shock will wear off and your wife will come to appreciate the kilt. I think that very few of us who decide to seriously wear the kilt do it for frivolous reasons; there's some good reason why we decide that it's time to get un-bifurcated and it's a personal statement of one kind or another. It's difficult when we make this statement and those near and dear to us don't seem to understand or accept it from the git-go but have faith and give it time.

Wives are absolutely wonderful creatures—just don't surprise them that way. Give her time. My wife and I often go out in our highland dress to supper or movies She has often commented on how the women smile at me when I'm wearing such a manly garment. Love her, she'll come around.
