My moms reminds me that the little guy on the squares is called "Overall Bill," or "Overall Sam," depending on to whom one speaks. He's the male counter-part of Sunbonnet Sue.

She agrees that you have a fine heirloom there, a quilt to be proud of.

My Nano made a "Sunbonnet Sue" quilt for my Dad's older sister. My sister now has the quilt, I believe it was made ca.1918.

I have still got the one my greatgrandmother made using my father and uncle's old PJs a few years ago when it got worn in a few places my patched it....... no sacrilige involved, she used pieces of oru daughters PJs
