My only affiliation, being of the wrong gender to wear one, with Kilt is knitting the occaisonal Kilt hose for my significant other.
I have the Pattons pattern but deemed it to boring so I made up my own. I think the Jo Anderson's Pattern is nice, however there seem to be an awful lot of people wearing it... You can have a copy of mine if you asked nicely and your feet are around UK size 9...

This is the hose all gift-wrapped. The luckenbooth is completly hidden when worn. I just thought it makes a nice detail.

I'm in the process of making another pair so any input would be very welcome. In particular I'm curious what pattern are traditional for the turnover. I know about "lattice" and "popcorn"... any more, pictures maybe?
I'm off to make another unpreceeded but pretty pattern any suggestions highly welcome.
(EDIT: The pictures don't display as pictures, hence the links, sorry)
