I'm glad you finally had some good reactions. However, I am a little surprised at the negative reactions you have had. I have been kilted in Hocking Hills (as have other people here) which is in your neck of the woods, and have had good reaction.

I'll pitch in with Adam as another SW Ohio Buckeye. I've vacationed in the Hocking region and had no problem. Some odd looks... but you get those almost anywhere!

I find that women are much more forward to me when I'm wearing the kilt. In trousers, I'm just another bald, overweight, middle aged guy, but when kilted, I'm "The Guy in the Kilt."

Whatever, their reasons, it works for me.
