I love the execution on a sub- $20 children's kilt. Jerry, you are certainly building for the future of SWK (in the model of Big Tobacco, get 'em started early).

I emailed Jerry and got this information about his new Thrifty Kilts:

    > Are they made of the same material as your other acrylic kilts?

    That is correct.

    >
    > Do they have a tapered front apron (it kind of looks that way in the photos)?

There is a slight taper on the fringe edge side.

    >
    > Are the pleats sewn down on the hips?

Not a chance at that price, unfortunately. You can see the pleat photo on our website. It is similar to our economy kilts.

    >
    > What other tartans will be coming soon?

We will announce other tartans on our website only after we actually have them in stock ready for purchase. there will be eventually 4 or 5 more tartans.

We will be tracking sales of this product against our economy kilts, we may elect to discontinue one or the other in the future.

    Best regards,

    Jerry,
Could you please tell us more about your Thrifty-Kilts?
Are they made of the same material as your other acrylic kilts?
Do they have a tapered front apron?
What other tartans will be coming soon?
Wow. The website is greatly improved. I like it. At the price of the thrifty kilt I might just have to order one to see how the 24 inches works for me.

Is anyone going to order one of these as their knock around kilts?

The features section for the Thrifty-Kilt does not indicate that there are belt loops, and I don't see any on the side view. You can still easily wear a kilt belt without the two belt loops in back.

Jerry, kudos on the new web site, and thanks for coming up with yet another nice kilt for a bargain - $23.95, that's amazing!

I purchased one in Black Watch for my son in law at the recent Scottish Fair. For the price, I don't think they can be beat. An exellent " ice breaker" for folks thinking about kilts.
