Wizard - I was not trying to be defensive. I was just being tongue in cheek about The Kilt Police.
I am not sure that your statement "You as a vendor of another persons product don't know what your fabric weighs so I asked someone who can tell me. I don't think that should not be a reason for you to be upset." is a fair assessment or comment.
Also your suggestion to weigh a completed kilt - with metal buckles/ leather straps/thread/ lining IS NOT going to tell you its true weight per yard is. unless you use:
Total Weight -(3 Metal buckles + 3 leather straps+Thread Used+ lining)=MTW (Material total weight)
Now tear the kilt apart and measure the material. Divide MTW by Yardage
You now have the true weight per yard..... and a really messed up kilt.
another way would be to ask a few of the folks in here that have purchased yardage to weigh it and tell you the true weight.
