    No, it was emphasis.

Goth kids for whatever reason tend to admire kilt wearers. So you'll get someone quite gothed out admiring your dress. It can be very odd.

    mbhandy, Kid Cossack, Mr. MacDougall,
I apologized for my lack of communication savvy on the internet.

Goth in this area (which is very conservative) is very rare to the point that I would not be surprised if any local Goth thought that wearing a kilt was 'not right'.

A very good friend of my and his wife usually have a couple of dinner parties during the year. I look forward to being kilted at the next party. In fact my friend might be disappointed if I arrived wearing slacks.

I think I was fortunate...The first time I wore my Scottish National, I was attending a New Years Eve party on a cruise ship from Galveston, Texas to Cozumal, Mexico...I received lots of looks, stares, and compliments, but most interesting was the question, "What are you wearing underneath?"...I said "On a good day...........Lipstick" I saw that answer posted on "Real Men Where Kilts" and borrowed it for the moment.

I will send a picture as soon as I figure out how to upload one???

I went to downtown Salem, OR on Monday afternoon in a kilt for the first time. As soon as I was done with the final out processing brief it was off with the ACUs and into my SWK Nightstalker. I figured that all of my comrades at arms had heard my decry the unmanly dress of the lowlander for low these many month that I needed to walk the walk because I had beening talking the talk. I needed a kilt pen so I went to a shop in the Reed Opera House downtown. I had about a 4 block walk from where I parked. One thing that I noticed it that I tend to walk with better posture when I'm wearing a kilt, which makes me taller. Well I was wearing a dark dress shirt, my nightstalker kilt, belt and sporran. I looked pretty sharp and I knew it. I had a swagger in my walk. I've been told that I normally have a rather aggressive expression on my face so with that, the swagger and the knife stuck in my sock I don't think that any on the local street rats really wanted to pester me. Someone let out a wolf whistle but I really could tell who it was of really who they were whistling at. Neither the folks at the kilt shop or at the tattoo parlor where I stopped to get a price on getting my clan crest tattooed on my deltoid seemed to think that there was the slightest thing wrong in the way I was dressed. The only comment I've received has been a woman saying that it was great to see someone showing pride in their heritage.

I went to the Home Depot in Auburn, IN this afternoon. I fear that my kilt nearly killed an employee. I had a flat cart of shingles and I wanted to pick up a fan, but I had no idea where to look. I was going by a counter and stopped. I started towards the counter and the man at the counter turned towards me. He immediately froze and I do mean froze. It was comical. After a few moments I asked him about the location of their fans. This broke him from his frozen state. I wonder if I never would have said anything to him if he would still be standing there frozen.

Also while there I believe that a number of eyeballs hit the floor.

It is sooooo much fun being comfortable in a kilt.

    I hate pants.......they are evil.

Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?
