Getting Chatted Up
When I got my first paycheck of the summer, I splurged a little, and joined The Brotherhood of the Kilt. I got my membership package, complete with t-shirt, on Friday, and yesterday, I wore the t-shirt with my Buzz Kidder canvas kilt in Navy Blue.
I also got paid on Friday, so yesterday, I went to the bookstore... that's just the way my life works. When I have a little money, I buy books, and if there's any left over, I buy food. So I bought a book, and at the register, the most beautiful young woman inquired if I were going to the Celtic festival that day.
After a little discussion, I discovered that she actually meant the festival next month.
Now, someone smooth and debonair would have asked if she'd like to go with me. Someone suave would have turned the discussion into a chatting up, and gotten her phone number, or asked her out for coffee.
Alas, I'm me, and none of those things happened. But it was nice to have a beautiful woman smiling at me, and actually interested in something I had to say.

Hindsight is 20/20.
But at least the next time you will be better prepared...
...RIGHT?

Well, if she works at the book store at least you know where to find her. I see a vast library of books in your future! ;-)

Indeed I do. It's where I bought my ticket to the Prescott games, in fact.
