Basically, it means "characteristic of the kind of person who would know the meaning of the word pedantic."

That made me literally laugh out loud, because it's so perfectly true.

The problem is, I'm not as young as all that. And the girl in the bookstore, while maybe not quite young enough to be my daughter, is certainly young enough to be my neice. I've dated a woman half my age before, and while it had its interesting moments....
