I, too, that's what I was getting at. I'm usually wearing sandals & sock with troosers.

London, New Year's Eve, rain. I'm wearing sandals---with waterproof breathable booties, naturally, but you can believe I'm wearing socks!
Greenwich, next day, snow on the deck of the Cutty Sark. Ditto.
