While we are on the subject.
Does anyone know any good places on line to buy jackets? PC or Argyle? So far ive only found international sites. And though there nice, the markup/waittime/currency exchange all adds up.
Anyone know any good stateside places?

USA Kilts, The Scottish Tartans Museum Store, and the Celtic Croft all sell kilt jackets, and they are sponsors of X Marks the Scot!

From what I saw/heard at the Greenville Games, St. Kilda kilts seems to be a good source. I am thinking of an Argyle/vest combo for myself.
Also, the Scottish Tartan Museum would be the FIRST place I would look, as Matt has plenty of contacts and carries some NICE jackets.
(A few of our other sponsors could probably help you too.)

We've got a nice selection of jackets for you here:
http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/kiltjack.html
All of our jackets are made in Scotland, so we've done the importing, currency exchange, etcetera for you (though there still will be a wait time!). The delivery time usually is not all that long on the standard jackets, though the custom made ones obviously take longer. One thing you'll note about our custom jackets is that we allow you to choose from lots of different patterns and colors, and allow you also to select a contrasting vest if you prefer.
Aye,
Matt

Hey Cousin,
Thanks for the swatch pic of the Ancient Gillies. I have a strong Gillis line which I've vainly tried to make different from Gillies. I found a Gillis tartan on line but in tracking it down it turns out it was computer generated and modern and doesn't exist for real...so guess I gotta fall back to Gillies tartans to honor that branch of the family tree.
Hope you're able to post a pic of the whole kilt someday.
