Such an incident is new in Scotland, there has been nothing like it that I know of since Lockerbie which in itself is not fully comparable since the plane had taken off elsewhere.

Fortunately there has been no loss of life, but the disruptions and inconveniences it has created could have much longer term consequences.

I would urge those planning to visit Scotland not to be put off. After 9/11 many people changed their travel plans for the USA and after 7/7 the same happened here. Terrorists win when people respond to fear.

Absolutely, its business as usual in Edinburgh today.

I was interested to hear a couple of local holiday makers decided to mete out their own justice before the coppers got a hand on the guilty men.

This is a horrible incident. I have heard that this is the first terrorist incident 'directed' at Scotland. Even the IRA never crossed the line and brought Scotland into the 'Troubles'. I also read that there is a felling that this may be a message that was being sent to Mr.Brown, the new PM who is from Scotland.

I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

    Glasgow Airport Incident

At present watching TV reports from Glasgow Airport. The terrorists have struck at the one of the airport's busiest days, the first day of the summer school holidays, hopefully the airport will get back to full working order soon and people's familly holidays will not be ruined.
As I stay across the river from the airport I thought there was something wrong when I noticed several helicopters fying about and turned on the TV to find out what was going on.
Thankfully no one was kiled or injured.
