How are you treating and finishing the wood ?

Have you tried Organoil ? I believe that it is made by an Australian company and it's lovely to work with.

I have tried the Organoil. It's great on the softer woods but doesn't seem to have much effect on the hardwoods. One thing I did discover though is to keep it away from the beefwood at all costs. The reaction was terrible. It took me four days & numerous products to try & neutralise it. In the end it took Oxcalic Acid, & I'm still not happy with the grain. It has darkened all that wonderful marbling effect.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments guys. Although I do them for fun & relaxation, they've inspired me to put one up on ebay & see what kind of reaction I get! If it doesn't mean cutting Rab's grass, I'd be honoured to make a sgian for a member or two.

Go for it, it's better that folks are offered a good choice.

    best regards,
