For my part, I should like to say it was a grand day out. I really enjoyed myself, and I think we all did the same. There was lots to see, but the bands were very good. Bagpipes are so much better outdoors.
It may be of interest to know that The Somme Battlefield Pipe Band was formed after the 1st World War in the locality of the battle by French musicians as a tribute to and in thanks to the Highland Regiments who were so prominent and so decimated at that dreadful place. As a Highlander, it spoke particularly to me. I can also report that they were very good indeed.
Thanks to cessna152tower for the pictures. I only took video, but Hamish, I know, had his camera, so we should see more from him in the near future.
