Down here in Sussex on the south coast of England we have no floods to speak of. This is surprising since we have had what seems like constant rain for months and, one day last week we had over 3" of rain in the one day - it was incredible. The garden is a washout this year - I just hope I can get the lawns back in order for the 2008 Storrington Gathering next June.
As with everyone else who is not directly affected by the waters, I feel so much for those thousands who have been, and still are. This morning, whole counties have lost power and fresh water supplies.
Also this morning, the Government has announced that it still proposes to build hundreds of thousands more houses on the country's flood plains! What goes on in their tiny minds?
