For all intents and purposes, the kilt is finished. I'm satisfide wth it. Sure its not perfect, but, its for me and it was a practice run. So I can live with the imperfections.
The material itself was nice to work with. I think it will hold a pleat good enough. The only problem I had was the cut edges unraveling. With wool, after the first couple of threads were removed, there wasn't much of a problem. It seemed to go a little further with this material.
This is lighter weight material, but I think it will work out OK. I turned a box fan, and 2 pedistal fans up to high to see what would happen. The worst was the right hand apron corner flipped up to the sorran. Not so bad. Now a strong gust of wind might yield different results.
If you are looking for some inexpensive material to work with, I say give it a go.
I'll get some pics up in that forum when I get a chance. Maybe this weekend.
