I would actually put forth an evergreen sprig.
Always growing, and cheerfully green. All year, and all seasons.

Anyone in a deciduous zone might be hard pressed to find an evergreen sprig of a particular variety. As we are spread around the world, I think it narrows the availability too much. Dandelions might not grow everywhere on earth, but they seem to give it their best shot.
