Very cool! It sounds like you have the bosses on your side. What do the young people you help think?

congratulations and ... ARGH!!!! I am sooo jealous!

I have been trying to fight this battle for some time now at my company to no avail. The VIP of Operations said that it wasn't work appropriate. (side note, my company doesn't deal with customers at all. It's a financial aid processing center) I asked if I could wear it on St. Patrick's day and he said "Nope, go ahead and wear it on Halloween, but that's it" GRRRRR>>>>

So, my plan is to wear it on Halloween to show him how professional looking it can be.

Anyways i'm ranting... again though, i am very jealous of you!

So far just the normal questions.... are you Scottish, why the kilt, etc. Not a single negative from anyone.

I am really lucky, our office is a very casual atmosphere. Jeans, shorts, sandal, flip flops, tshirts, are all common accepted attire, so the kilt is really not all that out of place, and I feel it is a little more "professional" than jeans or shorts. I may take a pic, and try to get it up here. I am dressed casually (Tan Amerikilt, and brown short-sleeved collared shirt) as far as how much a kilt can be dressed up. Again... I am grinning from ear to ear....

Hopefully enough of us can get out there and show that being kilted is not unprofessional in any way, and people will see it and accept it (or at least tolerate it.)

I really miss Alaska.I lived there in the late 1970's
The people are so laid back
an Alaskan tux (red rubber boots and a pendelton wool shirt)
would get you into the best resturant in town with out a second glance
