    Yes, I too have noticed that some "gentlemen" acquired in whatever their significant other/mommy found at Wall Mart/K Mart can get to feeling quite inferior when a kilted man starts getting glances from the ladies/other admiring types in just about any social situation.

    Even when said kilted man is fat and bald. This inferiority occasionally leads to an attack on the particulars of your outfit. They know you have them bested, so they feel impelled to indict you as some sort of style fool.

    These "men" might be just smart enough to know that outright questioning your masculinity when females/others in proximity are impressed by it is not a good move.

    They are not smart enough to realize that charging into a battle of wits unarmed won't improve their stock with the females/others under consideration.

    Classic Beta Male behavior. A true Alpha Male will usually be complimentary and let the ladies/others know that his masculinity and self image is still secure, even though the fat bald guy has him badly out dressed.

    An advanced Alpha may even ask you how he can get a kilt of his own, loud enough to be heard.
