    One of the problems is that I live in Seattle, WA. and anyone here caught carrying a knife that has a blade longer than 3 inches will be arrested. So, this is why I don't carry a sgian dubh or dirk. It's actually quite silly since you can get a gun permit and carry a handgun but you can't carry a blade longer than 3 inches. Go figure.

    Sounds like an excellent reason for a sgian brew, the handle with a bottle opener instead of a blade. If you search DIY I think there is a thread or two on this. Also Rab has them on his site if you want a gorgeous high end one.

    Delaware has some silly laws too so I can relate. Would love to carry a nice sgian around here. Not strictly illegal, but Delaware laws "bend" depending on who and where. I am saving for a Rab Gordon sgian brew myself.

    Ah yes a Rab Gordon, Beautiful knives and sgian brews. He is also a member here. PM him perhaps he can fabricate one with a blade at 3".
