Alrighty...nothing like a VERY popular highland games and celtic festival to demonstrate some kilt donts. First off, let me say that I have deliberately blurred out faces to protect the innocent (and those who should maybe know better). Also, we only went for the day and it was amazing! This year's games were about 3x as busy as I remember from 2 years ago. The traffic into Estes Park was horrible....65 miles took 2 hours. So, next year, we'll splurge and get the $200 tickets and stay for the whole 3 days. Lots of excellent music and cool demonstrations....see one in the "Kilt Do's only" thread. Enough babble, on with the show!

Exhibit #1: wearing gothic clothes to a highland games is like bringing a knife to a shootout:

Exhibit #2: this is a BAD advertisement for sportkilt (sorry guys!). This person should have figured out both the length and tried to line up the kilt velcro at little better:

Exhibit #3: this was one example of many that I saw. I know people argue about kilt length, but can you really argue when the kilt is 4-6 inches above the knees?!? And what was he thinking with that sporran?

Exhibit #4: Between the shirt and the hat.....just dont do it.

Exhibit #5: Now, I have to admit that I am a bit on the fence with this one since it's not a traditional kilt and therefore...can you get away with non-traditional garb? You decide.
