    There seem to be two directions of this thread, one about kit in the hose and another about wedding bands. I suggest storing one's wedding band in your hose to increase the kilt checks.

    Ah, but in true Scottish tradition, I married a woman who would hunt down and destroy anybody who did that. Best to behave, you've got to be able to shut your eyes sometime.

    Many of the better stationary shops carry leather pen/pencil holder. some for a single pen, some for multiple pens. These then to be of soft leather and will "close" once the pen has been removed. I have seen some that are made from stiff leather and would hold the top open for easy reinsertion of the pen but still have enough tension to keep the pen in place.
