I've tried teaching a friend how tie a bow tie, this may be the answer.

Not if one is wearing formal Country Western wear. Then in looks quite dashing, much like a string tie might, context is everything.

I am not Scottish, but I love wearing kilts and I love the looks of them. I am trying to find something that incorporates the kilt but shows my American heritage. I have the American Heritage kilt and would like to make a look that is definitely American but not to offend the Scottish folks or make a mockery of their heritage.

I like the Cowboy hat with the kilt. I don't care for cowboy boots with the kilt.

    Any other suggestions?
