Great kilts are antiquated and cumbersome. Unless wearing them for reenacting or costume (*ducks from Halloween thread*), I'd recommend a modern kilt every time.

A question for you, what drew you to scottishclansman.com? Why did you choose them?

    Aye,

Clansman Knitwear (scottishclansman.com) has a fine website and many customers on this board. You may wish to do a Search on this site to review the threads about their products and service.

Best part of this forum for shoppers is ye olde search feature.

I have to say, while I would suggest a small kilt for day to day wear, I disagree that the great kilt is cumbersome.
I have worn them quite a few times before and they were just as easy and comfortable as the small kilt.
    Very, very nice.
