Dinnae be hard on those little dogs like poodles and maltese and whatever this little black thing that showed up at my back door last night is. I've played with several miniature poodles that have been remarkably game for their size and as rowdy and rough and tumble as some Labs that I've clowned around with....just smaller. Hey...less dog food and smaller poops to dispose of!

Wait till you meet the mutt until you make up your mind.

Don't know if you saw the other thread but this little guy who showed up last night has made himself right at home and, after taking him out to tire him out, is a great walker and a good listener.

I'd just watch out when you play the pipes around the doggie...you may get some serious howling.

Yeah, don't hate. It isn't the dog's fault. I like bigger dogs myself, but even a small dog can be a great companion.

Think of it this way. If you are confident enough to wear a 'skirt', then why don't you have the confidence to walk a small dog?
A small dog has all the personality, love, and affection of a bigger dog. Since I'm sure you won't be entering your dog in any pit fights, what does it matter?

Oh, I don't know about that...when I go to visit my mom and dad, the Maltese comes over and demands attention and when I drop to one knee to pet her, she dives under the kilt and won't come out. My dad finds this quite amusing.

Hey, man. Toy poodles are cool dogs. We have one. They are very smart, love to play, don't leave hair all over the place, and very easy to train. And ours is a cutie.

Don't underestimate them.
