For me the main attraction of the kilt is the movement of the pleats and to have a colour change as well is a bonus - tartans seem to have the wonderful property of being an identification, and yet provide a whole range of different options for pleating.

I'm still working away on a kilt with 50 (fifty) small pleats, where the reveal is black and grey, but the inner folds are alternatly red and white - mostly. Hopefully it will look rather striking when worn.
