    I was about to ask how much it cost, as I'm thinking of doing the exact same thing. No time to do it myself though. I guess that's why they say time is money, eh?

    The thing to look for in the thrift store is a jacket with patch pockets at the side. These can be easily removed and the material used for faux pocket flaps or epaulets. Slash pockets can be used but it's hard to hide the sewn-up opening.

    That's the Davidson tartan, kilt made by Lochcarron. One of my better ebay purchases.
