I like the muted colors, but to my eye (and laptop's color rendering), I think the grayish loden green in the first post is more attractive than the olive-ish green in Matt's last photo. The other colorways are a little too vivid for me.
Still on the fence - maybe if this discussion is still going on after my tax refund comes in...?

Rex.

I'm in for at least 2 yards. Err, ummm, maybe 4? David, thanks for bringing it up.
Matt, thanks for the clarification about colors. Those are very nice colors, I agree.

Yeah, if we were looking after the new year I'd be more liable to be able to swing it. At this rate I'm going to have a collection of tartan yardage waiting to made into kilts. lol.
And, my vote's the same as Matt's... Wilson's colors. The "modern" is too bright for me.

I like the one Matt showed. I think it looks pretty cool.

Ok, based on what Matt is saying I would be interested in 4 yds of double width if the colours are done in his historically significant example or muted colours of the original post. If the run is dome in the modern bright colours I will pass this time. I have enough kilts with those basic colours.

I'm willing to put in an order for 8 yards of DW fabric. Although I'd be willing to purchase either the Wilsons' colors or the reproduction colors (from the pic in my first post), I prefer the reproduction colors. I think the nice slate gray of the blue and the olive of the green sets off the rest of the tartan. The Wilsons' colors are a little darker, although nice in their own way. I have about a yard of 11oz. tartan in the reproduction colors which I will post a better picture of when the wife gets back with the digital camera. I'd be happy to send swatches if anyone wants to see it in person. The thread below has pics of a kilt made up in this same fabric.

David, you rascal. Just when I promise my wife that I'm done buying fabric!
I love my Carolina in 100% cotton, but it throws itself into horrible wrinkles if I just think about sitting down. I love the tartan and would love to have a Carolina kilt in wool.
How about signing me up for 4 yards single width or 2 yards double. I'll raise the funds somehow. Maybe I can sell something (how about one of the kids....? )
Oh, and I vote for the colors in the photo in your initial post.

It looks like we are easily half way there already, just from those who have responded to the thread thus far.
If no one objects, I'd like to keep this thread open at least until the end of the month, to make it easier on those who say they'd be interested after the new year. This will give as many people as possilbe time to get in on the order, and allow for folks to make payment after Christmas is over.

You hit the nail on the head Matt after Christmas this could be an idea. I would like it in the Historic colours

Now I remember seeing those pix--- I'll join David and go for either of the color schemes; but, golly! it's a hard choice.
David: if we end up with Wilson's colors, would you be thinking of trying again in a year or so? A smaller single-width order? As you may deduce, I can't choose.
