Hi,
I have a nylon Inverness cape and I love it. Perfect for outdoor kilting, photographing and hiking. It costs here about 54,-€ which should be around 45$.
The oiled or waxed Canvas capes I found too heavy and uncomfortable.

No - you must have me confused with Jamie or Glenn...... I don't have the Dapper body style.
More like Dumpy...
Starts with a D, anyway.

You have a pipers chest, it just headed south for the winter. It's not about shape it's about style and how one carries it off. For you I think you would look dapper. Add a tweed dearstalker and a pipe...

I'll take the compliment but must note that being dapper has nothing to do with body shape.
Dress to look your best and remember that personal style and fashion isn't a competition (though when when you dress keep in mind that you should always try to look just a little bit nicer than Grant*).
Cheers

A couple of years back, I was at a highland game and it was rainy - anyway, the whole band was decked out in a very servicable black cape. It didn't look especially heavy, but good enough for rain. Of course, no that I'm thinking of getting an Inverness cape, I don't know any pipers. But I think I want a medium to light weight cape.
At least, that's what I am looking for now.
Matt sells some really high-priced Inverness capes, but then most of the items in Matt's site are high priced. The Scot in me rebels at high prices.
Still checking places out, and Mr. Anthony seems to have a leg-up right now.
If there are any band members who want to chime in, please do so.
