Nothing personal, but it makes me cringe to see someone wearing something "military" they aren't entitled to. Regimental ties, military kilts, medals... these things are part of a noble tradition, not costumes. They need to be treated with respect.
To the best of my knowledge, the service tartans are not part of any regulation uniform, and thus I again say wear them to the honor of those that are serving and have served their country!
Take one of our honored members for instance. Ron wears my beloved Leatherneck tartan to honor his brother, if my memory serves. And my heart is lifted when I see him do it. Sure, I don't wear the Army's or the Navy's tartan, but one can only have so many kilts, and there are too many tartans on my wish list already. Oh, and I can call it "my" tartan because I served in the Corps for over 30 years and retired a Master Gunnery Sergeant.
