Welcome from one punk to another even tho I've started to lean towards death metal here lately. The kilt looks cool I've thought of doing something like this to one of my cheap blackwatch kilts but since my son has been born we started him a kilt out of it.

You look like a member of the Real McKenzies.

But yeah, I think the jacket looks great with a kilt.

I just don't think I'd put patches on my kilt. A bit too expensive to be putting all of those holes through.

Skinhead, huh? Well, that's reason enough for me to NOT listen to their music.
Can't agree with the patches on the kilt, man. But more power to you.

belsen,
Respect is a two way street. I generally travel everywhere on the "T" (Boston's Public Transportation System) kilted. I am generally able to share admiration with the local punk culture, which is more into body art, and done out Levis, with a wide flair in the upper garments. I have oi polloi on CD, but I can easily see the Dropkick Murphys as this is their hometown, and they pack venues here regularly. We also have another form of Celtic punk in K of C council 62, known as the Pipes of Bunker Hill. Serious Bagpipe Celtic Punk.! I enjoy the music, but I do not dress the style. congratulations on the beginning of a very fine work of art.

I know the guys from Flatfoot personally. They are anti-racist. They are some of the coolest guys I've ever met.
I'm a "reformed" punk and an anti-racist (SHARP) skinhead myself.
If you want to learn more about the history of the non-racist skinhead scene, you can check out this wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skinhead

Here's a saying I hear alot. It's a bit cliche but it's true: Boots and braces don't mean racist.
Most skinheads are cleancut, working-class kids that like good music, good beer, and sometimes the occasional rowdy night.
Unfortunately, white power groups took hold of the skinhead image, distorted and corrupted it, and now many people and the media assume that every skinhead is a neo-nazi.
Anyway, I'll stop before this gets too political.
Belsen, the kilt looks great. Is that a zipper behind your sporran? You may want to consider moving it, as it will tear up the back of your sporran. It might look cool if you put a single stud on each pleat reveal, down at the hem/selvage.

I like it. I was expecting to see a black kilt, or maybe a camo kilt, but I like the way a traditional looking MacKenzie has been accessorised in such a way as to make it into a desirable garment which the young and trendy would want to wear.
