Not quite....
Mine tightens by sliding. The band is that same size, but one piece all the way around. It then goes back through the pre-tied and stiched in place knot, and tightens by pulling on it where it comes out behind the main part of the tie, just like a regular self-tied one.
Difference being that its a thinner, seamless, uniform band than a standard tie, but also doesn't have any visible clasps or hardware like your pictured tie.

Well, Colin, if you make it up to the Spike for their Burns' Night (I was there for their 4pm Scottish New Year's) then ya might be able to snag a closer look!
