Being a corporate whore, i've worn suits and ties for most of my working life, and learned to tie the various kinds of knots before I could even drive.
The reasoning for that particular item would be:
- I like wing tip shirts for formalwear
- I don't like bow ties
- Standard (AKA four-in-hand) ties typically have a visible seam somewhere over the length of the tie, which would kill the look
- A silk jabot/cravat/etc (which I actually do own one) have too wide of a neck band to work with a wing-tipped collar
It was worn with an argyll and vest, as I also believe that the PC is vastly over done.
Any other overly opinionated comments?
